Caveats and general principles of this blog
This blog is for posting my thoughts given in my gospel doctrine class at the Cascade 1st Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. To cover my tail, in no way, shape, or form is this blog endorsed by anyone in authority in the Church.
Thoughts given in this blog are the opinions of the posters. As is well-known among LDS members, the Spirit of the Lord is expected to be used to discern what is useful, and to collect new ideas from the Lord, based on the opinions given. IMHO everything you read in LDS books or hear from LDS speakers, including the scriptures, is a jumping-off point for mulling things over. Let the Spirit teach and guide you. It should be interpreting, clarifying, and expanding the thoughts given in this blog. You who are LDS Church members have the gift of the Holy Ghost. You control the choice to use it.
The Old Testament gospel doctrine teacher's manual is online at http://www.lds.org in the "Gospel Library" link, then click on the link in the "Curriculum 2005 to 2008" section. I will refer to sections in the lessons, per that teacher's manual. www.lds.org has numerous gospel resources. It is well worth your time to poke around, especially in the online scriptures and the general conference talks.
There will also be general posts on gospel subjects not related to any particular lesson. These are lessons I have learned by the Spirit while reading the scriptures and paying attention to the details seen in holy places.
